Massage therapy service provision resumes in Edinburgh and Larbert
Iris service returns to Western General and Forth Valley Royal Hospitals
Thanks to the generosity of the Robertson Trust we are delighted to announce that we have been able to reinstate massage therapy services for people living with cancer in the Haematology Unit at Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, from 2 September. The service at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, recommences 17 September.
The six month service provision pilots, which were undertaken at both locations to assess the benefits of increased massage therapy service provision, were extremely successful. Feedback from patients and staff as part of the evaluation process was very positive and supported the reintroduction of the service.
Iris are exploring other funding opportunities to maintain and expand this service.
